BURNING BLAZE AT DOWNS Shandon Stud Stable Arrives at Louisville From Lexington. John Marsch Inspects His Horses Which Raced at New Orleans Expect Three Ds String. LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 24. Burning Blaze, the best western prospect for the Kentucky Derby, attracted much attention this morning when it was learned at the Downs that he was tucked away in his stable at this course. He shipped in fine condition and will be trained by J. J. Greely for the big race. He has been showing up well in his early preparation for racing at the Kentucky Association track at Lexington, and his trials will be lengthened from now on until the running of the Derby. In the shipment of the Shandon Stud Stable from Lexington, besides Burning Blaze, were La Salle, Aqua Vitae, Battle Ax, Grand Prince and others which are the property of P. A. and R. J. Nash, Chicago owners. Trainer Greely brought up Sally Irene and Iskum for Tom Nash, and Weid-eleen, his own property, from Lexington with the Shandon Stud horses. A chestnut colt, by Waygood Spices; bay colt, by Under Fire Loving Cup; chestnut gelding, by Infinite Irish Lace, and a bay filly by Sir Peter Belle of Stonewall, are the juveniles in this barn which came with the older horses, t John Marsch of Chicago, joined trainer Phil Reuter, of his racing establishment at the Downs Wednesday morning, where the horses that raced at New Orleans were unloaded and given the same stable at this track that they occupied last spring. Jockey H. Roble, leading rider last year, will ride for this stable again this year. Chief John and Camp Prince, both good performers in the Marsch stable last year, will not be taken up from the farm at Lexington until about late in June. Trainer Bryant Otts charges, which will sport the silks of the French Lick Stable of Thomas D. Taggart, are Amyvale, Old Depot. Hyannisport, Hoosier Prince, Hard to Get, Dis Dat, Hopefield and Terre Haute. He has no representative in the Derby this year. Willie Hoag, on his arrival from New Orleans with the horses of I. P. Krick, received stalls at Douglas Park for his charges. R. T. Runnels unloaded High Storm and Master McGee from New Orleans Wednesday morning. They were given stalls at Churchill Downs. The racing firm of Ward and Burton is shipping their stable to the Downs from Florida in charge of trainer Shirley Ward. This stable has a Derby candidate, Dyak, which raced in good style during the winter, and will be conditioned to fill his engagement in the race. Johnny Schorr is expected at the Downs with eighteen head next Tuesday. They are the property of the Three Ds Stable. Pittsburgher, T. E. Muellers Clark Handicap candidate, worked three-quarters in :25, :51, 1:18 for trainer Moody at the Downs on Wednesday.
