Won driving; second and third the same. WANDERING GOLD hurried into a forward position, responded to stout pressure in the closing three-sixteenths mile, slipped through on the inside entering the stretch and, taking command in the final eighth, held on stoutly to outstay SUNNY SUSAN. The latter, prominent and going in her best form, made a determined effort nearing the finish, but was not good enough. STUPENDOUS, worked her way -up on the outside and closed fastest of all in the final eighth. EDDIE LEHMANN showed a good effort. CHATTAHOOCHEE displayed good early speed, saved ground, but faltered in the final issue. FINNATH closed stoutly. JOAN K. was awav poorlv and had no chance, but closed a good gap. AFRIDI was sent .into a forward position going to the first turn improved his pace when nearing the far turn and, moving to the leaders at the stretch turn, finished stoutly on the outside and was up in the final strides. WINNIE C. sprinted into a commanding lead when straightened on the back stretch, began tiring during the final quarter-mile, but fought it out desperately until the end. PAL TO PAL was steadied along in the early racing and closed stoutly on the inside during the final drive GAYOLA, slow to get going and forced to race wide for racing room, closed a good gap. JIMMIE C. was unable to threaten the leaders. BAAL was kept close up and, racing on the inside in the early stages, faltered when the real test came. BO B. MEANY, stoutly ridden the entire trip, weakened fast during the closing quarter mile. STRAIT JACKET was badly outrun in the opening eighth and finished with a tremendous rush. SPERO closed full of run on the outside. SERGEANT HILL was racing stoutly at the end. SWEET SIXTEEN held on well after racing close up early. FLYING DRAGON dropped back immediately after the break. SINGLE STAR responded to punishment in the final stages and came courageously to hold sway over the others. LITTLE AMERICA, hard ridden for the first half-mile, weakened badly after racing ALLENS into submission; she raced below her best form. ALLENS was done after three-eighths. BROOKSIE, slow to get going and a distant trailer for the first half-mile, closed with a bold spurt through the stretch. COADY was never able to reach the leaders. The latter, blocked midway of the back stretch, went to the outside thereafter and closed with good courage. GENIAL HOST, slow to begin, responded stoutly to punishment and finished strong. PLUTARCH was used up racing with CRUSHED STONE and tired. CRUSHED STONE weakened during the final drive. CORBEAU was away slowly and could not reach a forward position. POLLYS FOLLY tired badly.
