SWANSEA raced on practically even terms with EARLY most of the way and bested the latter in the final drive. EARLY saved all possible ground under a good ride, but could not last. THE LONE TRAIL weakened in the stretch. ROYAL YEOMAN showed a dull effort and was far back most of the way.
