NEW YORK TURF NOTES 5 9 Tom Levy, veteran plater, died yesterday, and funeral services will be held Saturday morning from Everetts funeral parlors, Jamaica. Levy plated many of the best horses on the American turf. He worked for Jack Joyner, Tom Healy and other prominent trainers. Barret Haynes was a Belmont Park visitor yesterday. He plans to onen a public stable this spring and is on the lookout for material Haynes received a letter from his brother, Everett, from Berlin stating that he had signed up with a newcomer to the turf. Fifty horses have been purchased during the past three months by the newcomer. John T. Kermath, who raced at Miami during the winter, arrived at Belmont Park. He will await the opening at Jamaica.
