| JAMAICA TURF NOTES $, . $ John Kermath has taken over the horses owned by W. M. Moore, which Louis Tauber had previously trained. Jockey L. McAtee received word from trainer Joe Bauer not to proceed to Louisville, as Universe has been withdrawn from the Derby. Manager Tom Thorpe of the New York State Fair posted notices that the meeting at Syracuse would run six. days this season and that no purse less than 00 would be offered. The turf has been resurfaced and during the meeting, opening Labor Day and running to September 10, 5,000 would be distributed. Walter Barringer, well known Chicago sportsman, was among the club house visitors Thursday. Racing secretary Henry Pebler distributed stake blanks for the Ontario Jockey Club and the Bainbridge Racing Association among horsemen yesterday. The Widener course was opened for exercise Thursday at Belmont Park and many horsemen breezed their two-year-olds over the course. Victor Schaumberg of the Westchester Racing Association was a visitor for the day.
