SKIPSEA finished resolutely on the outside. NATIVE DAUGHTER and MEADOW BOY were shuffled back soon after the start. SILK RAG ran out on the far turn. FRIARS CHOICE moved into competition on the stretch turn and, overtaking KAUKA midway of the stretch, wore down the latter and was up to win in the final stride. KAUKA took command soon after the start and, although opening up a long lead, tired in the final stages. PAT raced on the outside all the way. SAKURA tired. FLY WOOD showed early speed. IDEALIA acted badly at the barrier and could not overtake the leaders. SIR SATIN overtook EL CAJON after a quarter, opened up a clear lead and, under strong riding, continued gamely and held NO FUN safe in a driving finish. The latter gained steadily and, coming through in the stretch, finished with a rush. PETERKIN, slow to start, went wide in the stretch, but tired. CALL TO ARMS raced well.
