CHATWINK, away fast, drew clear before going three-sixteenths, saved ground on the stretch turn and, tiring after increasing his advantage near the last eighth, just lasted. HELEN BAB, away slowly, saved ground on the turn, improved her position and, continuing fast after going to the outside in the stretch, was fast wearing down the winner. FOUNTAIN, never far back, showed a good performance despite weak riding. ZELLEEN closed fastest of all. THROUGH OMOND tired badly. CATWALK, away very slowly and blocked near the stretch, had little chance. BOB DOZER began in a tangle. JESSIE CAREY, lucky at the start, worked her way into the lead in the stretch and withstood PAN-SHALA. The latter, jostled about soon after the start, showed improved speed after half a mile and almost won. CATHERINE FOX, probably best, met interference at the start, gained steadily and closed resolutely. JANE PACKARD failed to rally when hard urged. FIREFLASH showed early speed. VESTA was outrun.
