ANNUAL MEETING OF C. R. A. Officers Appointed and Licenses Granted for 1932 — Regret Death of Francis Nelson. TORONTO, Ont., May 5. — At the annual meeting of the Canadian Racing Associations, held Wednesday, the following officers were reappointed for the ensuing year: Kenneth T. Dawes, chairman; A. S. Dyment, vice-chairman; Miss C. Casserly, secretary-treasurer. At the general business meeting which immediately followed the annual meeting the committee expressed regret over the great loss sustained in the death of Mr. Francis Nelson, who had acted as senior steward of the Canadian Racing Associations for so many years. The following officials were appointed for the coming racing season: Steward, D. S. Gillies; clerk of the scales, J. J. Farrell; timer, D. A. Boyle; assistant to secretary, J. J. Farrell; custodian of jockeys room, Kennedy Hill; starter, M. Cassidy. The committee members were unanimous in expressing the feeling that all race tracks should insist upon jockeys, trainers, agents, etc. holding a license issued by some recognized racing association. William F. Foreman was restored to good standing. The following licenses were granted: Trainers. James Bedame, Edward J. Doyle, Harry Giddings, Edward Gleason, John A. Healey, John F. Hynes and William Russell. Jockeys: Frank M. Dougherty, Frank Mann and Alexander Ridgeway. Authorized agents: J. Bedame, for Mrs. M. Bedame; Paul Ciceri, for Sunnyside Stable; Patrick Delaney, for Howe Stable; Charles G. Morris, for Brier Farm; William Russell, for Mrs. W. Russell; William Russell, for Four Ls Stable; Harry Sifton, for R. J. Speers, and Alfred Tremble, for Harry Giddings. Assumed names: Brier Farm, Four Ls Stable, Howe Stable, Ridgewood Farms, Sunnyside Stable and Whittier Park Stock Farm.
