M. and Finish of Derby Race. LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 5.— Though the weather man adheres to his prediction of showers, Col. E. R. Bradley, who likes nothing better than speculation on the weather, as firmly adheres to his offer to lay 4 1 that it does not rain between the hours 1 p. m. and the finish of the Kentucky Derby Saturday afternoon. "However," Colonel Bradley said, "the must be taken early Friday morning. fact, I closed the offer for big money Thursday night." The veteran breeder and turfman prides himself on his knowledge of weather, or perhaps it would be better to say that he doesnt think any one knows for a certainty anything about the weather — too far ahead time. Time and again he has been known offer to bet that it does or does not rain some day a week or more ahead. Having collected something like 5,000 his 2 to 1 bets against Top Flight "showing" in the Derby, and having had no takers of his offer to bet ,000 to ,000 that Tick On beats any horse in the big race with the exception of his own, Col. Bradley looked to the weather to furnish him some action. "There is no fairer bet than a bet on the weather," he said. "Its just as fair for you it is for the other fellow. There is noth- ing either he or you could do about it, and you just sit still and watch it as it comes along — and either pay or collect."
