I PIMLICO TURF NOTES f 4 € George McCormick, an exercise boy in the employ of Capt. P. M. Walker, was badiy : shaken up when thrown by a two-year-old I this morning. McCormick is the third boy to receive injuries this spring astride Walkers youngsters. Manny Biegoff, Baltimore, broke his leg, while E. Eppheimer suffered a broken arm. They are both confined to i the South Baltimore General Hospital. Mrs. C. Cranes three-year-old Ladfield, a i candidate for the Preakness, has developed a quarter crack and has been thrown out of training. The Billy Barton Steeplechase drew seventy-five nominations, the largest number ever received for a race exclusively for hunters in this country. John H. Schiff, son of the late Mortimer " Schiff, will give a hunt meeting on his own private grounds at Oyster Bay, Long Island, some time in October. . Joseph McLennan, who will serve as rac-; ing secretary during the meeting of the • Arlington Park Jockey Club, arrived from I New York to interest horsemen in the stakes j to be decided during that meeting. Fixtures for this meeting close June 1. James Simpson, Jr., of Chicago has purchased Essare at private terms from R. P. I Watts and will convert him into a jumper.
