I I ; , | GEORGE SEABOS GOOD RIDING j Pilots Bozo to Victory in Stickney Purse at Sportsmans Park — Inaugurate "Daily Double." CICERO, 111., May 12.— Jockey George . Seabo gave another superb riding exhibition i when he landed R. F. Coppages Bozo win- ner of the Stickney Purse, which headlined 1 a good mid-week program. Monnie followed the victor a head back and a similar margin 1 separated her and Diaquri, which finished 1 third. i The winner began slowly, but Seabo bided ] his time making up ground and it was not i until the final quarter was reached that 1 he loomed as a dangerous contender. When 1 put under urging the winner showed in- I creased speed and, coming to the middle of ■ the track, he sped past the others one by I one until he had wrested the lead from I Diaquri, which had set a fast pace, but tired badly when put under pressure and eventually gave way to Monnie for second l place. Morsnuff was installed an odds-on favorite, but at no time during the race did he give evidence of being a factor. The track, which had been slow during the early hours, yielded to the work of track superintendent Billy Myers and gradually improved during the afternoon. Another good crowd was on hand for the sport, in which the choices fared badly in the first five races. Miss Hutcheson, which races for J. Dur-kin, proved her superiority over seven other juveniles when she easily accounted for the opening dash, winning eased up. Joe Patsie, an outsider, raced to second place in advance of the heavily backed Harold Jr., which might have been a keen contender but for stumbling entering the stretch causing jockey Seabo to pull up. Ruby Stone also stumbled and lost her rider rounding the stretch turn. Guffle accounted for his second straight victory when he outfinished Kukui in a brisk duel. Spanish Flirt was the one to be third, obtaining that part of the purse from the highly regarded Red Grange. The winner, away in motion, made every post a winning one, while Kukui, which began slowly, closed a big gap and was rapidly getting to the winner. Jockey Lester Dye continues in good riding form, his clever rating of Thistle Duke, winner of the third race being a factor in the victory. My Ideal, which raced in a forward position throughout the race, finished second, and Jean was third, leading home Peralta, which shared the honor of favoritism. The fourth race resulted in a surprise victory when George K, under a good ride by apprentice J. McLaren, lasted to gain the decision over Princella. The latter raced as if much the best, losing much ground throughout. She was forced to come outside the leaders entering the stretch, and was rapidly wearing down the winner. More Space, the favorite, tired after offering a mild challenge for the lead. Don Pablo, which came in for much support, encountered considerable interference during the race, but gained fast to be fourth.
