Whitney Leading Money Winning Owner — Pompelus Tops the Horses — Mills Heads the Jockeys. ♦ The C. V. Whitney stable began the New York racing season auspiciously by winning the most money during the Jamaica meeting. This was the first ot the metropolitan meetings of 1932, and comprised twenty-two racing days, during which time 132 races were run and 16,055 was distributed in stakes and purses. The daily average distribution amounted to ,820. The Whitney stable won 0,650, while James Butler, owner of the Empire City track, was second with earnings of 8,800 and J. J. Robinson third with 8,685. The W. R. Coe string also figured prominently with winnings of 7,350. Pompeius, with 2,675, Universe, with 0,600 and the great handicap star Questionnaire with 0,550 were the largest money winners among the horses. Hank Mills, the sensational young rider, who rode so well last year and during the winter, carried off the saddle honors with sixteen victories for a percentage of .25. S. Coucci and A. Robertson were tied for second place, each with fourteen winning mounts. The training honors fell to H. C. Riddle, with ten winners, the veteran James Fitz-simmons being next with nine.
