Brown, newly appointed manager of the Montreal Jockey Club, was an arrival to c interest horsemen in the forthcoming meet- -ing at Blue Bonnets. Paul P. Codd arrived from New York with two horses that he will race on Canadian tracks. Those that arrived to sport the Codd C silks are Medicine Bow and Menelek. Codd returned to Belmont Park after securing a trainer. A meeting of the Canadian Racing Associations will be held at the King Edward Hotel Tuesday morning. f Harry Giddings, who is handling a large g public stable, will ship ten or more horses j to Ottawa to take in the meeting at Con-naught Park and then keep them on the * Quebec circuit. A coughing epidemic has spread among t several of the larger stables, and it has z struck among the new crop of two-year-olds. For the convenience of horsemen occupy- % ing stabling quarters at Woodbine Park during the meeting of the Thorncliffe ] Breeders and Racing Association, van serv- i ice will be used to the Leaside course to fulfill engagements. s Jack B. Campbell, efficient official, who t served as placing judge during the Ontario Jockey Club meeting, will take a much t needed rest. Mr. Campbell, who will serve ] as racing secretary during the meeting of i the Niagara Jockey Club, at Fort Erie, de- 1 parted for Biloxi, Miss., where he will remain t for several weeks prior to the opening of ] the border track. 1 Mose Lowenstein, with a large public j stable in addition to his own racers, will ] remain over for the Thorncliffe and Long Branch meetings. i Jockey T. Aimers departed for Kings Park ■ to report to Pat Delaney and will remain in that section for some time. I S. F. Murphy brought his entire stable ] from Aurora to remain in Canada for the remainder of the racing season. The Murphy racers were given quarters at Thorncliffe Park. Sweet Sentiment came out of his race Monday slightly bowed and will be thrown out of training for some time. j Jockey T. Aimers will depart for Montreal tomorrow to ride for Pat Delaney at Kings Park. 1 Jockey E. Legere was fined 5 by the stewards for coming over sharply with Soil Gills directly after the start of the fifth race Tuesday and causing interference to ; other starters. Arthur Hullcoat, who is handling the A. C. . Bostwick performers, in addition to some of . his own, will dispose of about eleven head , before returning to New York. E. P. Barnes of Grove City has filed application with the Canadian Racing Associations for a trainers license. J. E. Smallman added another member to his racing string when he secured Sea Kale, a former member of his barn, out of the first race Wednesday for ,500. Schooling classes will be conducted daily at Long Branch, beginning Monday, by the ground staff of assistant starter George Palmer. The latter is expected to arrive from his home on the same day. Trainer William Bringloe reports that the large band of juveniles under his care are slowly recovering from a recent attack of coughing and they will shortly be placed back in training.
