, JOCKEY ELSTON S INJURIES HOMEWOOD, 111., June 2.— Jockey Gilbert Elston, who received a bad fall when thrown from Hard Lines in the last race Wednesday, suffered a slight fracture of the skull and it required forty stitches to close the wound in his head. Elston, who is at present leading the American jockey list, is under contract to C. V. Whitney. He is receiving treatment at St. James Hospital, Chicago Heights, where he will be forced to remain for some time. He was conscious this morning.
