Mikel claimed Taddywawa, from the Jones Stock Farm, for ,000. R. J. Howell claimed Don Alvaro from p-C. B. Irwin for ,300. Old Kickapoo returned to the J. D. Mikel C stable via the claiming route for ,000. O. L. Foster had previously claimed Old Kickapoo. The Erindale Stable added another performer to their racing interests when they secured Ward-in-Chancery, winner of the fifth race at Woodbine Friday for his entered price of ,500. $ M. Keeling branched into the racing game by securing Circulet from E. J. Badame after his score in the third race at Woodbine Friday. The price in this instance was ,700. Play Bird, winner of the eighth race at R iverside Park Monday, was claimed from A. J. Schuetze, by C. B. Irwin, for ,200. Acting for M. L. Schwartz, Max Hirsch _ sold Black Forest to G. W. Coburn at private terms. There was considerable activity among the halter brigade Monday at Thorncliffe Park when no less than eleven claims were filed for the services of three different horses during the afternoon. Two claimants vied for ownership of Frumper, from the R. H. New stable, and he went to Mrs. H. Pyne for ,000. J. E. Smallman out-shook three others for the services of J. J. F Morans Burnside and secured him for ,000, while W. I. Newmarch held the winning hand over four others for Silvery, which was entered for ,500. W. G. Ziegler, Jr., at private terms, sold to Mrs. J. E. Nagle the horse Phantom Legion. »
