HURAWAY, sluggish in the early stages, gained his full stride in the closing half mile, circled the others and displaced the leaders without effort in the stretch, then drew away. ULTIM improved .his position gradually in the late stages and finished gamely. BOUNDER, steadied in front, shook off CLOIRADO, then tired fast in the stretch. CLOIRADO tired after three-quarters. MADGES FELLOW, slow to start, worked his way up on the outside and was wearing down the winner steadily near the finish. PRIMLIN, hard urged, saved much ground on the stretch turn and finished gamely. QUADROON was under pressure throughout. SUDDEN was gaining fast near the finish. BOLD ROBIN had no excuses. HAZEL GUMBERTS,. closer up than usual, tired badly after taking command. SIS LARGO lacked early speed. SATURDAY NIGHT quit. Scratched 71997 J. STEP OFF, hurried into an easy lead at once, was steadied along until challenged, then continued gamely when put to a drive. FLY FISHER challenged gamely midway of the far turn, then tired. ATHLONE LASS, a factor throughout, raced MEMPHIS LASS into defeat and held on resolutely. ADAIR LOUISE, prominent all the way, held on stubbornly. MEMPHIS LASS was used up racing RALDOMAR into defeat and tired fast in the last eighth. FLYING ATOM could not reach the leaders. PALDOMAR raced very wide through the final stages. STRATHCONA quit.
