HARRY HIEOVER, fractious at the post, but away fast, had speed, quickly drew away from JACHJ HOWE at the stretch turn and weakened in the final sixteenth, but stalled off ESTIN. The latter saved some ground and closed resolutely. KLAIR, allowed to drop out of it, lost much ground and closed fastest of all. SAWDUST was on the inside almost throughout. THE WIDOWER raced restrained until the final five-sixteenths and, responding well when called upon, held on well after taking the lead and outlasted SANDWRACK. The latter, well up after a quarter, closed fast under urging. BRASS MONKEY, far back for five-eighths, improved his position fast thereafter and finished fastest of all. BILLY JONES showed speed, saved ground and tired. BILLY CHAMP lost much ground. PRINCE MEGAN had no mishaps. OSLO quit. MAJOR LANPHIER quit badly. FIFTH RACE 3-4 Mile. BETTY DERR, away fast and much used racing JUDGE PRIMROSE into submission, slowly gave way to the winner, but held on well after being headed and outstayed RUSTY. The latter saved some ground and closed strongly. SURF BOARD began very slowly, steadily improved his position and showed a fine effort. SCREAM weakened. MANTA never threatened. PLAYTIME was outrun.
