Aside from the 5,000 in added money, the winner of the Hawthorne Gold Cup, set for next Saturday, August 27, at the west side track, will add this beautiful trophy to his owners collection of cups. The trophy is made of gold and stands twenty-one inches. It is emblematic of the thoroughbred enshrined. This is the fifth running of this rich turf fixture. Display was the first victor, while Sun Beau came along to make it three in a row.
