Trainer Bill Knapp believes the horse is better suited for the short events. L. T. Whitehill claimed Prince Pest out of the second race at Hawthorne Saturday for ,500. Whitehill won the draw from trainer E. Hayward of the Peconic Stable. Black Patricia and Reproof, the property of R. Green and Son O Sweep, which races for C. Januska, arrived from Thistle Down, in charge of Dick McKeown, who will train them. Joe Walters reports that a special train of horses will be assembled and depart from the Chicago district for Tanforan September 17. Apprentice W. Todd, who recently arrived here from Thistle Down, has had a rather meteoric career since winning his first race on Dewey Fly at Dorval June 28.
