PLANS FOR HAVANA RACING 0,000 Cuban Grand National Tops Feature Over 00,000 in Stakes and Purses. PHILADELPHIA, Pa., Oct. 3. At a meeting of the Kaelker Brothers and associates, lesses of the Havana-American Jockey Club and the Casino Nacional, and James Milton, general manager, held here yesterday, official action was taken regarding the Havana meeting. The opening date of the race track definitely has been set for January 21, for fifty-one days of racing. The Casino Nacional will open December 29. Fourteen stakes, with a gross value of 4,000, will be run. These include the Cuban Grand National Handicap of 0,000. All stakes except the Cuban Grand National will close January 2, while the big race will remain open until February 1. The Cuban Grand National will be the richest of the winter stakes, topping the Agua Caliente Handicap formerly the Coffroth. Some of the star horses of America are expected to participate in this rich event. More than 00,000 will be distributed among horsemen during the fifty-one day meeting. According to present plans, ,200 will be disbursed daily, exclusive of stakes. Manager Milton has announced that stall reservations will be allotted in the order of their receipt. Horsemen planning a Cuban campaign should find it advantageous to make reservations immediately.
