LOWER TEN improved her position on the inside, but could not threaten the first two. CORRYMEELA went evenly throughout. HIGH MIST was held safe. SUDIE B. closed fast from a slow beginning. PROM GIRL had no excuse. ANIMATION lacked speed at all staces, as did CIRCLE ROMAN. GRAND ACRE, taken in hand and given a breathing spell when leaving the back stretch, responded readily wheri-shaken up and held FAIR BILL safe. The latter, kept in a prominent position, made a stout effort when midway of the final turn, but could not seriously threaten the winner thereafter. SIR KENDAL, in the first division from the start, could not make up any ground in the final half mile. FAIR JUDGE saved ground and raced well. KAFFA could never improved her position. NEGOPOLI slumbled repeatedly going to the first turn when on the inside, came around las field in the last half mile, disposed of SKIRT and drew out stoutly. SKIRT, ridden hard to shake off BURNSIDE, saved eround wherever possible, but could not stay when the winner challenged. BURNSIDE hustled into a brief lead but could not keep pace when put to a drive. LUCKY RACKET was held safe when the real test came. LIGHT BREEZE was outrun. LUCKY CARTER tired after seven-eighths. POMPET moved into a forward position with a rush when securing racing room on the inside, came resolutely when straightened into the stretch and was winner in the final strides. WAR GLORY, hard ridden to shake off KUMMEL and SKY HAVEN, saved ground, but faltered nearing the finish. SKY HAVEN, a strong factor all the way, held on with good courage for the final drive. SILK FLAG lost ground the entire journey and weakened under severe punishment. RED RUN saved a lot of ground and raced well INLANDER could not menace at any stage. The latter, timidly handled, was eased back when leaving the back stretch, swung to the outside and closed fast under very weak handling. DON TASKER raced into a brief lead when midway of the far turn and held on gamely after being bothered by JIMMY D. when straightened into the stretch. AUSTERLITZ II. showed a good effort. SAM PASS was kept in the deepest footing and tired. DADDY NELSON was never, a factor. TUFFY G. faced poorly. EAGER PLAY was pulled up when he was knocked off stride at the break by JJON TASKER. TRIPLE THREAT, a stout factor for three-quarters, was done thereafter, but easily held the others safe? VIMONT, well placed, could not improve his position and outstayed GARLIC. The latter, placed to punishment early, lost ground at the first turn, but hung badlv after making his effort. The others never figured as factors.
