i LATONIA TURF NOTES 1 Seven horses, the property of Mrs. Payne "Whitney, were shipped here to Jack Mid-dleton, trainer of the western division of the stable for a Kentucky and winter cam-pain. Milton Riers took over Mrs.-B. F. Flynns Tea Green to train. V. H. McMullen arrived from Canada with Liberty Flame, Buds Choice and Nervous Lady and turned them over to J. G. Angner to train. Eugene Bury, who serves as presiding judge at Oriental Park, was an arrival from Toronto and while here will interest horsemen in the fourteen stakes to be decided during the Oriental Park winter meeting, starting January 21. Jockeys Pete Walls, Alfred Robertson, C. Kurtsinger and .Harvey Elston are coming on from the East to fill engagements in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes. Charles Bacharach, sportsman and vice-president of the Crescent City Jockey Club, which has taken over the New Orleans Fair Grounds, is leaving Saturday for his home in New Orleans. Mr. Bacharachs Southland Stable is racing here in charge of John Daniels. Head Play, Mrs. W. Crumps good two-year-old My Play colt, will be wintered at Louisville, according to plans of William Crump. His preparation for the Kentucky Derby will be inaugurated early. A division of Mrs. E. L. Swikards stable will be raced through the entire winter at New Orleans. Trainer J. T. Taylor plans to send Duelist, Wayward Lad, Bobs Luck, Hamilton and others to the Crescent City in charge of his brother, Hubbard. The stables application for stalls at Jefferson Park went forward today. Journeys End and La Feria, the useful fillies owned by F. A. Wehle, will be given a well merited rest following the close of the Kentucky season and will be missing from the big string Jack Howard will ship to Florida in December. Albert Sabath, Chicago owner, is stopping off here Saturday on his way home from New York. While here he will inspect all his horses in training with a view of selecting a number of them for winter racing at New Orleans. Jake Lowenstein is trainer of the Sabath string. Frazier Le Bus, owner and breeder and member of the Kentucky State Racing Commission, was a visitor for Wednesdays racing. Jockey J. W. Frye was an arrival from Canada, where he rode with some success. He will do some of the riding for the Sabath-Lowenstein stable. Harry Cooper, who purchased Needles from the Coldstream Stud, made application for a trainers license. Track superintendent Charles Nolte "Wednesday sent out a warning to horsemen not to ship to Latonia unless they have stalls reserved and notice of such reservations have been confirmed.
