1 EMPIRE CITY TURF NOTES s $ Richard Kaelker came up from Philadelphia for the afternoon. He reported that considerable interest was manifested in the stakes to be decided at Havana next winter. In the absence of T. J. Healey, George Kelly saddled Pantaloons in the first race of the day. Due to the sloppy condition of- the track, morning workouts at Empire City were few and far between. George Odom will ship several horses to Pimlico in charge of Will McKnight. Thomas S. Young was on hand to witness his Royal See account for the third race. It marked his first appearance since Saratoga. Col. C. S. Reynolds of the Remount Service, and Colonel Donovan, veterinary at Governors Island, will be at Empire City Friday to look over possible purchases for the U. S. Remount service.
