LAUREL MEETING STATISTICS jWheatley Stable Leads Money -Winning Owners With 4,890. 8. W. Labrot Second With 4,680 Notebook Heads the List of Money-Winning Horses With 1,490. The Maryland State Fair distributed 68,365 during its twenty-four day meeting at Laurel, from October 3 to October 29, a daily average of 1,181.87. One hundred and sixty-eight races were run during the meeting, including the Selima Stakes and Washington Handicap, two of the most valuable races decided in the country. Two hundred and ten dollars separated the Wheatley Stable and S. W. Labrot in their race for money-winning honors among the owners and the Wheatley Stable triumphed, winning a total of 4,890 with its horses, while the Maryland owner won 4,680. C. V. Whitney was third, with 3,015, and Norman Church fourth, with 1,375, the quartet being the only owners whose horses won a sum amounting to four figures. Notebook, the daughter of "Chicle, which won the Selima Stakes, was the leading money-winning horse, with a total of 4,-490. The game Tred Avon, which defeated Equipoise in the Washington Handicap, earned 6,480 and second place in the standing. Gallant Sir, the Church star, scored in the Maryland Handicap and, being second in another rich race, amassed a sum of 0,475. Sarada, The Darb, Jack High, Hygro, Rideaway and Rush Hour also did well for their various owners in the way of earning money. "Buddy" Hanford piloted twenty-three winners out of 111 mounts for first place in the final standing of the jockeys who rode during the Laurel meeting and not only was he first in winners, but first also in percentage. R. Jones and J. Gilbert had a nip and tuck battle for second place, with Jones triumphing in the end with thirteen victorious mounts to Gilberts twelve. Honors among the steeplechase riders were split between H. Little and P. McGin-nis, who rode two winners each. W. Irvine headed the trainers list, saddling seven winners during the meeting.
