PATSYETTE, fractious at the post and lucky, began well, saved ground entering the stretch, rallied mildly in the final quarter, where she saved ground and was up to win in the final strides. LAST SECOND, a factor throughout, also saved much ground and held on fairly well. CHATWINK, taken into the lead, bore out entering the stretch and tired when in the deeper going in the final eighth. THROUGH OMOND showed speed, was forced wide by CHATWINK in the stretch and tired badly. PRINCE CANBAR held on well. PROUD PRINCESS quit. BAGGAGE MASTER dropped out of it and was far back thereafter. PONY UP was outrun. LORD DEAN, under pressure from the start, worked his way to the front quickly near the final eighth and, holding on gamely, withstood YOUNG BILL in a brisk drive. The latter, probably best, lost the lead when his rider failed to notice the rush of the winner entering the last eighth and, while in very close quarters near the end, just failed to get up. DIZZY lost ground on the stretch turn and swerved in the final three-sixteenths. PHAELDALE, away in a tangle and taken back repeatedly, closed fast. NORMAHAL tired. DUNNY BOY began well, but quit badly in the last five-sixteenths. FREE HELEN was as good as left. BIOTA, away fast, but unable to keep up early, improved his position in the stretch and finished well. PALATINE raced sluggishly for half a mile, but closed fastest of all. RIDGE WISE showed good speed in the going, but quit badly. HIGH COMPLEXION, placed on the outside at the start, began fast and had no mishaps. MARSE CHAN dropped out of it after three-eighths. The latter, hard ridden, lost ground on the stretch turn, held on stubbornly for an eighth after entering the final quarter, then tired. FAIR ROCHESTER, slow to start and far back for half a mile, saved ground on the stretch turn, went to the outside of THISTLE PLAY and wore down the latter in the drive. The latter showed speed, was taken back when in closa quarters on the stretch turn and tired when clear. UNCLE DONALD appeared to sulk.
