MY FERGUS followed HIEAWAY under restraint and, taking command midway of the last turn, came out in the middle of the stretch and held PRIMLIN safe. The latter continued gamely when hard urged. TRENTONIAN, pinched back going to the first turn, get up on the outside leaving the back stretch and outlasted HIEAWAY. The latter tired in the stretch. HIEAWAY, rushed into a short lead, tired. DANIEL SOOT took command going to the fourth fence, jumped faultlessly thereafter and, opening up a good lead, was taken under restraint after the last fence. MORTE MAIN, taken wide all the way, hobbled at the twelfth fence, recovered quickly and held on well. SAND BELL droppd back after the eighth fence, but continued gamely. CAPSTONE was messed about from the start. BROWN RULER entered contention at the next to the last fence, but tired. CURTAIN CALL fell at the fourth jump and PROOF POSITIVE lost his rider at the ninth. FAIR JUDGE, slow to start, circled the others and finished eamely RUNNING PLAY worked his way up gradually. GRAND ACRE could not menace the leaders. TRUE SWEEP, whipped into contention, took a short lead, but quit suddenly in the stretch. SKIRT raced poorly. ELECTRIC GAFF tired badly, as did EMERGENCY AID. Scratched— 81035 Aella, 100. VISHNU, heavily weighted, was used up racing with CANTORIA. LORD RAGLAN had no mishaps. AIR PILOT was in the deep going most of the way. The latter moved up stoutly, but could not overtake the winner. MODERN TIMES held on gamely under urging. SOEUR BLANCHE had a lot taken out of her trying to displace the winner.
