I TORONTO TURF NOTES | • _ R. Newell has definitely decided not to send Survey in the Kings Plate May 20. The daughter of Corenzo and Reconnaissance will be brought along slowly and reserved for racing later in the season. It would not be surprising if there were several other withdrawals from the Plate, after witnessing the latest training moves of some of the Guineas candidates. Watchlite has been unsexed, while Crackle, the other member of the J. R. McKnight stable, which wintered at Tryon, N. C, is going along in brisk fashion at Thorncliffe. Jack Whyte has wired Thorncliffe to reserve twenty stalls for the string he is sending here. B. S. Michell wired from Kentucky for six stalls at Thorncliffe. Included in the Michell shipment will be Mighty Atom, a recent winner at Churchill Downs. Trainer W. R. McGirr has a stable of five in his care for Donley and Dutton, Winnipeg sportsmen. They were shipped to Thorncliffe from Tanforan and include Dis Dat, Mild, a winner of four races this year; Lady Marnock, a home-bred which accounted for a pair of purses during the Agua Caliente meeting; Manitobian, a winner of his last outing at Tanforan and Southard, another that won on his last trip postward at the California course. Tim Hanrahan distributed condition books for the Woodbine Park meeting among horsemen at Thorncliffe Thursday. W. R. Norvell, racing secretary on A. M. Orpen tracks, states that condition books for the Long Branch meeting will be ready next week. Fred Schelke will van his string from Thorncliffe to Woodbine within the next few days.
