THROUGH OMOND met slight interference when PRINCESS QUEEN ran out and tired in the drive. THISTLE TOM raced sluggishly for half a mile. GOLDEN DEEDS challenged in the stretch. PETE tired. PRINCESS QUEEN ran out badly on the turn. PLAYING ON, placed on the outside and away slowly, was rushed into contention and quit in the stretch. PHARAMAID was in very close quarters near the last eighth, but responded gamely when clear. KING FARO bore over badly while holding on gamely. SMUGGLED IN worked his way up on the inside and, impeded in the stretch, did not recover. OLD LADY raced well. ALCORAH showed good form. BIBBOO was cut off. QUICK WAY, knocked back, cut a quarter badly in the running. UNCLE MATT, under restraint for half a mile, worked his way into a short lead in the stretch and, holding on well, just failed to hold the winner. SMEAR, close up from the start, went to the inside in the stretch. TRAITOR worked his way up and had SMEAR in close quarters. WATCH TOWER came from far back. GETTIN EVEN began well. HABANERO, away slowly and allowed to remain out of it the first half mile, improved his position fast at the turn, easily disposed of MUSLET and won with speed to spare. MUSLET, well in hand the first five eighths, could not withstand the winner : t the stretch, but held on well under licht weight. MY, BLAZE, sharply impeded at the lower turn, came to the extreme outside for the final quarter and stood pressure gamely, but could not threaten the leaders. PLUMAGE quit.
