THISTLE DOWNS INAUGURAL Everything in Readiness for Opening of Summer Meeting at Popular Cleveland Track. CLEVELAND, Ohio, July 28. From present indications the Thistle Down Jockey Club is likely to be favored with fine weather and a fast track for the opening of their summer meeting at Thistle Down Park tomorrow. There will be no scarcity of racing material. The stables on the grounds are now filled to capacity. The late arrivals will be stabled at other tracks in this vicinity. Numerous changes have been made this spring. The open air paddock in the cen-terfield, opposite the club house, has been removed. The stands, fences and other buildings have been given a fresh coating of paint and the track proper is at its best. Forty jockeys were registered today with Charles Campeau, clerk of scales. The majority of them are well known to local turf fans. Although there are no real stars among the number, they are mostly all capable pilots. All of the racing officials were on the scene today completing details for the opening and a successful meeting is anticipated. Two Cleveland banks which have been closed since March 4 commenced- paying off depositors Tuesday. This has stimulated business here generally and it is expected will be reflected in the patronage of this meeting. The list of officials follows: Presiding steward, John T. Ireland. Assistant steward, H. R. Allshouse. Presiding judge, E. W. Bury. Assistant judges, Charles Campeau, B. H. Held. Racing secretary, E. W. Bury. Starter, G. R. Wingfield. Clerk of scales, Charles Campeau. Paddock judge and timer, Charles Wilson. Patrol judge, J. R. Day. William Crump wired this morning for stall reservations to accommodate five horses that he will ship here from Latonia.
