; 5 1 ARLINGTON PARK NOTES I s Col. E. R. Bradley sold to T. P. Hayes the three-year-old Busted, and W. Hurley was instructed to leave the horse at Latonia for his new owner, who will race him at Coney Island. Colonel Bradley leaves Sunday for his Idle Hour Stock !Tarm, where he will rest for a few days before proceeding to Saratoga. Judge Joshua Clayton and Mrs. Clayton of Elkton, Maryland, were clubhouse visitors at Arlington Park Friday. Mrs. R. L. Rogers has asked that thanks be extended to horsemen and private contributors for the funds they gave toward funeral expenses of the widow of a trainer. The total collected was 25. The Stuyvesant Peabody stable, which has been at Hawthorne for several days, is headed by the veteran Martie Flynn and also includes Miss Melody, Meloy, Alpers, Slip Knot, Gay Follies, Farmer Bob, Technocracy, Dusty Lane, Blaze Or and Convert. Following the Lincoln Fields meeting the Peabody horses were transferred to their owners Arrow Brook Farm, where they rested for two weeks. Apprentice Jack Westrope, who drew a five-day suspsnsion for rough riding last Saturday, resumed riding. C. C. Van Meter has taken over for Mrs. J. D. Hertz the horses Steppin High and Ara and they campaign next at Coney Island. William Hirsch came in Friday morning from Cincinnati and arranged with D. E. Stewart to race several of the Calumet Farm horses through the Coney Island meeting. Hirsch will ship six from Arlington Park to that Cincinnati track Sunday and the several head he has at Latonia will be transferred to the island course when Hirsch returns. v Jockey Mack Garner, who has been engaged to ride Sun Tempest in the Arlington Futurity, arrived from Saratoga Friday. The death of John B. Haskett, popular Chicago sports enthusiast and stockholder in the Hawthorne track, was a shock to his many friends in the racing fraternity. Mr. Haskett was a regular patron of the Chicago tracks and last visited Arlington Park two days before his sudden demise, the result of a heart attack. The string Mose Lowenstein unloaded at Hawthorne several days ago includes Replevin, Cruising, Burning Feet, My Counsellor, Royal Purchase, Grace R., Sugar Purchase, Royal Lerner, Our David, Scotch Pepper, Gertrude S., Mary Mcdonough, Band Wagon and Hope to Do. The latter two are owned by Cary T. Grayson, and the others race under Lowensteins colors. The stable was shipped here from Rockingham Park. F. E. Moore hopes to dispose of Barash-kova, Jackstaff and Closing Event, the only three horses he has in training, and will take a rest with a view of improving his health. The horses will be sold privately. In addition to the crack Indian Runner, double stakes winner at Arlington Park for D. A. Wood, Illinois patron, G. W. Ogle will race Stone Martin, Mountain Elk, Prince Tokalon, Fort Dearborn, Come On, Don Tasker, Seth Polante and Aegis through the Hawthorne meeting. Tom Flippen is expected at Hawthorne with the horses Hillsborough, War Plane, Luck Piece, Bud Charlton, Tela, Sweet Chariot, Harold Jr. and Prometheus. The latter is owned by Mrs. W. R. Padgett and the seven others by. Mrs. R. T. Flippen.
