MAYER RIDES FIVE WINNERS LATONIA, Ky July 28. Apprentice Jack Mayer, the Louisville lad, under contract to Roscoe Goose, rode his fifth winner when he piloted C. V. Whitneys Cresta Run to an easy victory over Sallie Bourland, Princess Octa and three others in the mile and seventy yards eighth race. Mayers other winners were: Popo in the seventh, Tendril in the sixth, Agincourt in the fourth, and Border Patrol in the third. Cresta Run also completed a triple for the Whitney stable, Smear and Tendril being the other winners saddled by Mose Goldblatt, Cincinnati trainer.
