WRIGLEY FIELD VICTORIOUS Scores in Best Race on Program at Kenilworth Course. Attendance Shows Increase Over Previous Days Jockey G. Riley Riding Star of Day. WINDSOR," Ont., July 28. J. H. Blacks orange and white striped racing silks were carried to victory by Wrigley Field in the best race provided at Kenilworth Park, an overnight claiming handicap. This was the stellar attraction for another big crowd at the border course and contention was supplied by four others. Wrigley Field was ridden by jockey G. Riley and it was his second triumph of the afternoon when he had the son of Sand Mole and Louana in command of J. E. Smallman s Boscobel from start to finish to score in a stirring drive by half a length. Third fell to Dutton and Donleys D. and D. colorbearer Mild, while Impeach, from the Mrs. L. Clous stable, easily took the measure of the only other starter, Paul T. Boscobel was first away in the feature, but Wrigley Field, on the outside, soon raced past the J. E. Smallman mare, where he got away in motion, after repeatedly breaking up starts with his lunging tactics. Once in. command, jockey Riley steadied the Sand Mole horse, being content to remain just far enough in advance of Boscobel. Striking Wrigley Field as the final furlong post was reached, the S. J. Black gelding responded gamely and in a stirring drive was past the line to win by a half length. Mild, in finishing third, was another length farther back, while Impeach was beaten two lengths and held a like margin over Paul T. The opening race for juveniles under claiming conditions saw a dozen silks and the result was a mild surprise when L. Gentrys To Arms dominated the race to score a rather easy triumph. Second in demand to A. Hullcoats Mindreader, the winner, under the guidance of G. Riley, was never menaced as he led the way and his success was earned by two lengths. At the end Candle Fly, racing in suddenly improved fashion, landed second place for L. B. Paradise, while C. E. Drummonds Moresoris was just a head farther back as he took third from Hereward and the others that included the disappointing Mindreader. The latter suffered no mishaps during the running, Cas-sard had him in second place in the early stages, but he fell back steadily to finish in eighth position. Outsiders accounted for the purse awards in the decision of the second race in which a dozen of the cheapest sprinter platers supplied the contention at six furlongs. Authority, from the J. E. Smallman stable, earned major honors when, under the handling of E. Litzenberger, of whom little was known, the Smallman filly, under a stiff drive, landed across the line to beat Craigco, from the L. Clous stable, a half length. Mrs. C. O. Iselins Free was just beaten a nose for second place as he took the measure of the choice, Donate, and the others.
