score clearly exemplified this afternoon that he was much the best of the threeyearolds that could be mustered against him He won the 25000 added Detroit Derby with a length and a half to spare and Charles T Fishers Mata Hari George Will ¬ ing Jrs Swiftsport A G Vanderbilts Dis ¬ covery and A C Schwartz Gay Monarch completed the field of twelve that contested the mile and threesixteenths threesixteenthsCavalcade Cavalcade had to be the best to win Garner allowed him to drop back of the early pace and reaching the final three eighths he had only Time Clock his stable mate beaten Garner was lucky to find room with the champion and sensing the oppor ¬ tunity he drove him on to victory Shouldering victoryShouldering the top impost of 126 pounds Cavalcade ran the distance in track
