1 EMPIRE CITY TURF NOTES | $ . — — $ F. Preece, S. Takura and E. Smith arrived from Charles Town with their horses. A. G. Vanderbilts Discovery left for Arlington Park to start in the Classic and the other members of the stable were shipped to Saratoga Springs to await that meeting. The W. M. Jeffords horses left for Saratoga, while the Glen Riddle and W. S. Kilmer horses leave this week. A. J. Joyner made his first appearance of the meeting and saddled Jack Low for G. D. Widener in the fifth race. Max Hirsch returned from Chicago, where he saddled Good Gamble in the Lassie Stakes for A. C. Schwartz. Matt Brady returned Good Advice and Mr. Khayyam, owned by the Catawba Stable, to Belmont Park. He expects to start Mr. Khayyam during the Saratoga meeting. Miss Betty West, a daughter of Mrs. James Austin, owner of the Catawba Stable, will show her colors Tuesday for the first time when Supreme Court parades to the post in the first race. Miss West recently graduated from school and is an ardent racing enthusiast
