1 FORT ERIE TURF NOTES | $» » Ralph Lentini purchased the six-year-old Darksini from J. Badame at private sale. He will do his own training. Condition books for the forthcoming meeting to be staged by the Belleville Driving and Athletic Association at Stamford Park beginning July 21, are now in the hands of the printers. They will be released by racing secretary John P. Turner during the present week. Arthur Hullcoat, who is racing a large string of useful horses on the Canadian tracks this season, will remain at Fort Erie after the close of the meeting but will van his starters to Stamford Park whenever they are scheduled to race at the peninsula course. George Cladianos, operator of the Belleville Driving and Athletic Association course at Stamford Park, has announced the engagement of Independent Canadian Racing Association officials to conduct the meeting of seven days. David H. Gillies, steward representing the Independent Canadian Racing Association, stated that the saliva test will be in use throughout the meeting and that all trainers and pockeys will be compelled to have licenses from the Independent Canadian Racing Association. Len Carver, who raced a useful string of racers during the thirty-six days season of the Shenandoah Jockey Club meeting at Charles Town, W. Va., and who at present is at Syracuse, N. Y., notified J. P. Turner that his horses would be shipped to Stamford Park. W. I. Shewbridge has engaged stalls for eight horses for the Stamford Park meeting that begins July 21. Washout, a frequent winner in Maryland and Virginia this season, will head the shipment. At public request, Mr. Vivell, manager of the Fort Erie mutuel department, announced that the popular three-dollar combination ticket will be in use during the remainder of the meeting at Fort Erie. This new innovation began with the card listed for Monday. Joseph Turner, who will serve as racing secretary and steward at Stamford Park, stated that handicaps of 00 will be offered several days during the seven days racing. They will be framed to suit the horses that are available on the grounds. Overnight purses will be 00 and 00. Richard Crassley has been engaged to supervise the mutuel pavilion during the Stamford Park meeting. For a sum that was not divulged, Edward F. Seagram purchased the four Judge Fuller two-year-olds that raced for the Thorncliffe Stable. They were taken over immediately after the transaction was completed, and they will be prepared for their future engagements by J. Thorpe. The four that were purchased are Sally Fuller, Kingstaff, Judge Rock and County Court. E. F. Seagram was also offered the option on five yearlings by the same sire that are now at the Thorncliffe breeding farm. « —
