HADAGE had enough speed to keep up with the early leaders and, racing on the outside, drew away in the last sixteenth. SOCIETY EDITOR made the pace, but could never get far away and weakened near the end. SIR ROSE was close up all the way, but was in close quarters a sixteenth from home. AMALTHEA saved much ground on the stretch turn, but could not find racing room in the last furlong. HOWDEN was going fairly well at the finish. ROTHERHAM closed some ground. Won easily; second and third driving. ELEANOR M. went to the front soon after the start to open up a long lead and was never in danger. CHAZZAN improved his position gradually and was gaining at the end. DODIE had speed and held on well. PHYSICIAN could never get to the leaders, andwent fairly well under ordinary handling. ROLLING WHEELS, never far from the leaders, moved up strongly in the stretch to finish with great courage and hold MOPECO. The latter came very fast after leaving the back stretch to take to the outside of the leaders in the run home and, finishing strongly, would have been a certain winner in another stride. CAN ELE was closest to NAPPUS in the early running, took a short lead in the stretch, arid held on fairly well. NAPPUS made the pace, but tiied badly in the stretch. SPEEDY GEORGE bore out at the start, raced wide around the first turn, and could never get to the leaders. The others were outraced. Overweight Accorder, 1 pound. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. LADY BOWMAN lacked early speed, but came fast after leaving the back stretch and, although finishing gamely under urging, could not overtake the winner. SHINING JEWEL dropped hack after meeting with interference from the winner on the far turn, came again approaching the stretch turn, but was in close quarters and weakened in the run home. INTERPRETER, although in close quarters on the far turn, remained with the leaders to the stretch and outfinished WOULD DARE. The latter weakened in the run home and was in close quarters on the inside of INTERPRETER in the stretch. GRAYBACK dropped back after going I a half-mile.; DISTRIBUTE, although getting tor the front on the back stretch, showed a dull effort, stopping badly, in the run home and raced far below his best form.
