NIGHT JASMINE took a short early lead, increased her advantage after going a quarter and, withstanding a challenge from LITTLE SON at midstretch, had enough left to hold SWEET CHARIOT safe. The latter, unable to keep up early, improved his position gradually and, finishing fast, was gaining on the winner near the end. LITTLE SON saved much ground approaching the stretch turn to race" to second place, but tired after challenging the winner an eighth out; CAMINO REAL raced wide after breaking well and, taken back early, finished with courage; BAL- ELE tired in the stretch. BLONDELLA went to the front at once, was taken in hand on the back stretch after opening up a good lead and, saving ground in the run homo, had little trouble showing the way to the end. TERRAIN acted badly at the post and, outrun by the winner and WINSLOW, was in. close quarter on the back stretch, but continued well and was going gamely at the finish. WINSLOW was well up throughout and, although weakening, held BEESON. The latter dropped far back in the early part and, although making up some ground, did not close with his usual dash and hung near the end. SOURCE CIRCLE seemed outclassed. PROUD HILLS moved up gamely on the outside around the stretch turn to take a short lead, and went gamely to the end. FRUMPER closed some ground, but was in close quarters in the stretch. EIGHTH POLE badly outrun early, closed a gap, but was never dangerous. NORTH-CUTT, shut off at the start, saved ground approaching the stretch turn to reach a contending position, but was all-over the track in the stretch run. ESPERANTO and WARRING tired.
