PRINCE TORCH, prominent throughout, maintained a forward position under occasional pressure, gave ground gradually after a half mile, then finished resolutely. SIR KOSTER, sent to the front early, continued with good speed while setting the pace and had to be roused briskly in the final strides to outfinish GOLDEN X. The latter, a strong factor throughout, closed strongly in the stretch and was getting to the winner. SOUTHLAND LAD began fast, but lacked speed gained fast after a half mile and finished strongly.
