1 ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES $ Much favorable comment has been heard on the mounted patrol judge, which is another of Arlington Downs many innovations. Frank Otis, an old time jockey, who learned at the Morris Ranch, in Texas, follows the horses in the back stretch and reports to the stewards any rough or fraudulent riding in the race. It is one of the protections provided by the management of Arlington Downs to its public. The Texas Jockey Clubs terrace and mez-anine Saturday at Arlington Downs was the scene of many pretty parties, Fort Worth and Dallas society maids and matrons vying with each other, and the ensemble presenting one of the most colorful vistas f the current season. Included among those who made early reservations with Joe Wol-kin were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Maddux, whose table drew many additional guests during the afternoon; Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Waggoner II., who entertained among others, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Wharton, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Childers, Mr. and Mrs. J. Hardy Neel, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Harrison, Mrs. Guy Waggoner, Mr. A. Guiberson, H. M. Parks, Duncan Caldwell, Jake Freedman, Mr. and Mrs. Paul McSween, Mr. and Mrs. Harden Hudson, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Harrison, Sid Richardson, Roy Cameron Mr. and Mrs. James Staley, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Fishburn and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Saunders, W. Dinkins, Mrs. J. B. Payne, who entertained a large party during the afternoon and others. The three-year-old son of Whiskaway has won seven straight and set a pair of track records at Oaklawn, running the three-quarters in 1:12 and a mile and seventy yards in 1:42. Because of his great showing at Oaklawn, Whizzaway cannot be regarded too lightly in the Texas race. Others in the Geneseo string are Billowy Wave, Harvey G. O., Debbie, Tody West, Unchanging, Touglou, Wracklice, Thatch and Tarbucket. T. D. Grimes received word from jockey George Woolf that he was leaving Bay Meadows Saturday night and would be here to ride Billy Bane in the Juvenile Stakes. Woolf was astride Azucar in his Santa Anita Handicap victory. Hilton "Rabbit" Dabson, H."Albrecht and Paul Keester, all of whom rode doubles Thursday, each got away to a flying start and all bid fair to become highly popular with the racing fraternity. Dabson is a skilled rider and makes the most of his opportunities during a race.
