SALVE forced the early pace, took the lead entering the stretch and, holding on gamely, outlasted KELTNER in a hard drive. The latter moved up gamely in the final eighth, took a short lead in the final sixteenth, but bore out in the drive and just failed to last. BRIGHT FLOWER showed early speed and held pn gamely.
