BRADLEY LEXINGTON ARRIVAL Barry Shannon Says Brevity Is Best Three-Year-Old He Has Seen in Number of Years. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 27. Col. E. R. Bradley, accompanied by his sister, Mrs. Catherine B. Bailey and his secretary, Thomas S. Bohne, arrived at Idle Hour Farm late Monday afternoon from Palm Beach. Colonel Bradley will go to Churchill Downs Wednesday to see his Kentucky Derby pair, Bien Joli and Banister, work the full route, one mile and a quarter, in preparation for the big race Saturday. C. Barry Shannon, manager of Idle Hour Farm, who saw the Bradley pair run at Churchill Downs Saturday, today said: "Brevity holds the commanding position in my calculations for the Kentucky Derby, providing the track is dry and fast. If the course should be muddy, my preference, naturally, is Grand Slam, since he is the outstanding mud runner among the eligi-bles and he appears to be in good fettle. Banister is, I think, the better of Mr. Bradleys pair, and he will be second on Saturday, I figure, provided he has no bad racing luck. He was running fastest of all at the finish of Saturdays race, and when the distance is lengthened to a mile and a quarter, I expect to find him charging down on Brevity or on Grand Slam, as the case may be. "I believe Brevity is the best individual as a three-year-old I have seen in a number of years. He has speed and he is game. He has the manner of a stayer. Furthermore, he will have the advantage of the best rider who will have a mount in the race."
