EPIBEAU displayed speed from the start, shook off GRANNYS TRADE after disputing the command for the hrst three eighths and drew out through the stretch run. GRANNYS TRADE had all her speed though making a determined effort to keep pace with the winner, but was not good enough though continuing in determined fashion to the close. SCATTER BRAIN moved up gradually on the outside in the last five-sixteenths and closed gamely. CAPUCHE moved up menacingly nearing the stretch, but was unable to improve her position in the closing drive. STIPULATE was well up throughout. BAIN MARIE moved up stoutly on the outside nearing the stretch and, despite hard urging, was unable to keep pace in the drive. TRINA, outrun early, closed fjitfc good energy on the outside through the stretch. SUN CHAUCER dropped back in the first sixteenth, but was going willingly at the end. SWEEPERMAN moved up steadily on the outside down the back stretch, moved up stoutly to dispute the command with GUARDIAN and. hard ridden throueh the stretch, outlasted GUARDIAN "at the end. GUARDIAN, prominently placed from the start, disposed of YAP for the lead and fought it out with good energy to the end. TIGHT WAD worked his way up gradually and closed gamely through the stretch after saving ground. YAP had good early speed, but was unable to keep pace with the leaders in the last half mile. WISE PRINCE, unable to keep up early, closed stoutly through the stretch run. PARTY SPIRIT was sent to the outside in the stretch and held on stubbornly in the drive, though unable to make up any appreciable amount of ground. PRINCE FOX was never a factor. DARK HOPE, in closest attendance of the pacemaker, moved up on the outside to take command from ALLEN Z. and, despite holding on courageously, was unable to keep pace when challenged. ALLEN Z. outran his field to the first turn, was steadied along in front under slight restraint, but tired in the last quarter mile. ROUSTABOLiT. under reserve for the first three quarters, was unable to improve his position when called upon. GALLANT PRINCE dropped back steadily when reaching the ba.k stretch. JERRY was forwardly placed throughout and held on willingly to the end. DANCING BOY. well placed and despite being placed under pressure, was unable to keep up in the last five-sixteenths.
