MONDAYS CHARITY DAY CARD Kentucky Derby Festival Association Program Features Race For Gentlemen Riders — Eight Races. LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 16.— Although the program is made up entirely of claiming races, interesting sport is looked for when the thoroughbreds at Churchill Downs engage in an extra day of racing on Monday for the ben-sfit of the Kentucky Derby Festival Association. This organization of public spirited citizens annually performs a voluntary service to the community in staging a series of parades and numerous other functions in connection with the Kentucky Derby and the net proceeds for Mondays one-day meeting will help to defray the costs of some of the festivities during Derby week next year. Col. M. J. Winn is turning Churchill Downs and its facilities over to the Festival Association for the day without cost and all employes of the track will give their services gratis. The festival program features a race In which gentlemen riders will be astride the contesting thoroughbreds and also the Kentucky Derby Festival Day Purse. Th-a Gentlemens Cup race will be decided over seven furlongs with the longer route of one mile and one-sixteenth prevailing for the co-feature. Seven entries were received for the Cup event with six named for the other headliner number. In all, eight races will be run, the first starting at 2 oclock. General admission for the day will be .
