I AURORA TURF NOTES Otto Bagley, acting for the Blue Ridge Farm Stable, purchased Witan from E. Sig-man. The terms of the transaction were private. Mrs. James Maurer expressed deep thanks for the purse to which turfmen contributed so geneiously to assist in the payment of I doctor and hospital debts incurred here. , Mis. Maurer underwent a major operation ■ some weeks ago and is now convalescing. Acting for Max Mormorstein, trainer E. ; Seremba purchased the five-year-old mare, Lofty Lady, from A. A. Gauthier. Ernest Moore, colored docker, died as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Aurora a week ago. He died at Copley Hospital here. He was a native of New Orleans and formerly served as valet for Cal Schilling. Mrs. J. Baintons Fancy Fan, a two-year-old chestnut filly by Bread Man— Fanny Falcon, broke down badly in the right hind leg while being worked over the Aurora track Saturday morning and was destroyed. The youngster had never started in a race. Pat Galliger. who is accepting registrations for the Hawthorne meeting at the Fox River Valley track, at present, reported receiving those of Mrs. M. Weil, Dan Hardy, S. J. Molay, T. Westrope and L. Thompson, Saturday.
