I BELMONT PARK NOTES | u j R. H. "Specs" Crawford arrived from j Pimlico with the division of the Brookmeade ! Stable that he raced there during that meeting. The Brookmeada Stables Good Goods will be returned to Belmont Park Monday from Narragansett Park. J. Kleeburg, Texas rancher and owner of the King Ranch Stable, shipped to Bob Smith, of the Brookmeade Stable, a "cow-pony," which quickly adopted th-3 methods of a racing stable and is now used as a "lead pony." He is black in color and goes about his duties in a sleepy manner. George Burke solicited owners and trainers for donations to a collection for the widow of Frank Clark, who died during the Jamaica meeting from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Miami. J. P. Jones arrived at Belmont Park with the horses that he raced during the Maryland meetings. Edward Smith accepted hi* first mount of the New York season on Broad Ripple in the third race. Jockey R. "Sonny" Workman will be here Monday to accept mounts. He rode Two Bob in the Kentucky Oaks at Louisville. C. V. Whitneys Two Bob and H. P. Head-leys Sparta are due back from Louisville Sunday. Mrs. Jack Healy arrived from Miami and will remain here for some time. Jack is due back from Kentucky Sunday, at which time plans for the campaigning of the second division of the Whitney stable will be made. Ernie Kathe is making the riding engagements of jockey Kurtsinger, who is down to 105 pounds. Joe Kahn shipped a dozen horses to Rockingham Park to await that meeting. Tom Buckley arrived from California and I will remain for the season. The Wheatley Stables Teufel and Snark and the Belair Studs Granville will arrive at Aqueduct from Pimlico on Sunday. M. L. Schwartz Bold Venture. Mrs. Silas Masons He Did and H. P. Headleys Holly-rood are due back from Pimlico on Sunday. Johnny Mellinger, Hornell, N. Y., handier pper, was a first-time visitor and will remain for the remainder of the season. Mrs. William Moseley, widow of the late I handicapper, announced that she has for dispersal a collection of chait books covering the past thirty years which are for sale. She is at Belvedere Hotel in New York. Trainer Boniface arrived at Belmont Park with eight head owned by Mrs. R. H. Heighe. A division of the John Hay Whitney steeplechasers also checked in. The demand for stalls is so great that it has been necessary to use part of the receiving barn for horses in training.
