DIAVOLO BOY settled into his stride gradually, moved up between horses to reach the leader at thl eighth post, put BIG BOY BLUE away in a hard drive and drew out in the final fifty yards. The latter, quick to begin and showing high early speed, saved ground at the stretch turn, then stood a brisk challenge, only to weaken in the late stages. COMMISSION had good speed from the start and held on fairly well. EBONY EOY moved up after the opening quarter, but tired near the end. BACKINTIME raced evenly. PATSYETTE, alert at the start but under mild pressure to take a clear lead, shook off a bid from ADA W. approaching the stretch turn when shaken up and had something left. The latter, unable to get to the front early, moved up again on the turn under pressure, but was not good enough, then came wide into the stretch and was easily best of the others. CUBANETTE saved ground throughout and showed an even effort. RIFF made a slight gain near the end. FORT ESTILL lost some ground on the turn and tired. HUM was outrun. Scratched 35804 Miss Lulu, 104. GAY TROUBADOUR lacked early "speed, moved up steadily between horses leaving the back stretch and closed strongly. ROYAL CHARM, quick to begin, failed to respond to urging and tired gradually. SURVEYOR was under pressure early to obtain a contending position, saved ground throughout and finished evenly., BOSTON PAL, slow to settle into his stride and racing wide on the turn, closed with a belated rush. CHIC MAUD, quick to begin and showing high speed while saving ground, continued gamely under steady pressure through the stretch to hold GREEN BOTTLE safe. The latter went out with the winner early, lost considerable ground entering the stretch and finished determinedly. KNEE DEEP, slow to get goinf, advanced steadily between horses until reaching the stretch, then closed very fast. STORMY SEA moved up fast entering the stretch and finished well. CONGRESSMAN dwelt slightly at the start, saved much ground to enter contention, then tired. DOMIWORTH raced wide. PLAYDIS had speed at the end. PATRONA, fractious at the post, was done after a quarter. AL-HIGH tired. DICKERVILLE, unruly at the post, refused to break with his field.
