G. 0. P. PRESIDENTIAL TIMBER WASHINGTON, D. C, Dec. 28. Senator Arthur Capper R, Kansas, arriving here today from the farm belt, named five possible candidates for the 1940 Republican presidential nomination and said the outlook for a G. O. P. victory was unusually bright. He said that any of the following men could be elected: Senator Arthur H. Vandenberg, Michigan; Senator-Elect Robert A. Taft, Ohio; Representative Bruce Barton, New York; District Attorney Thomas E. Dewey, New York City, and Senator Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr., of Massachusetts.
