TROPICALS NEW YEARS GARD Racing to Start at 10:15 A. M. First Morning Racing in Floridas Turf History. MIAMI, Fla., Dec. 28. Plans are going forward for the New Tears Day program of the Gables Racing Association, which will be staged Monday morning at 10:15 a. m. It will be the first time in Florida racing history that racing will be conducted in the morning. The meeting of the Gables Racing Association will strike the half way mark with the program to be offered on Thursday. The session to date has been on a par with the 1937 edition and it has brought out larger fields than in past seasons. The H. M. Stevens Catering Company, Inc., will open the restaurants and other units at an early hour on New Years Day to take care of early arrivals who wish breakfast at the track. Lunch will also be served, so that those inclined may leave directly for Roddey Burdine Stadium for the Orange Bowl football classic. Mose Goldblatt checked in at Hialeah Park for the meeting of the Miami Jockey Club with three useful horses, headed by Black ; Buddy, which were transferred from New Orleans. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stevens celebrated their thirty-fourth wedding anniversary on Wednesday and were congratulated by many friends.
