WRENACE, very slow to settle in stride, moved up stoutly in the last balf mile, swung around the leaders to engage ESPINACA, then outfinished the latter in the closing eighth. ESPINACA, going in. his best form, was rated close to the leaders, moved to the front on the stretch turn and fought it out gamely to the end. WEST SEA displaced BAREBACK when straightened into the back stretch, then saved ground moving into the lead, but failed to stay. BAREBACK was ridden hard, but was unable to hold on. EXHORT tired gradually after a half mile. MANLY lost ground on the first turn and was never a threat. BRANDON PRINCE performed poorly and can do better. WOULD DARE, very slow to get into racing stride, luckily obtainVd racing room on the inside, reached contention on the final turn, then came to the outside of BALAPINto finish in a dead heat. REBEL YELL raced well placed, but failed to reach the leaders when shaken tP. GOLDFIN passed tiring horses. RANICILLA showed more speed than usual early, but failed to keep ;up. ALBUQUERQUE quit badly after going three-quarters. VIRGINIA BOY was pinched back in the first sixteenth. PERFECT ONE could not keep up when put to a drive. SUN ANTIOCH moved up boldly midway of the turn, but tired during the stretch drive. BRANNON was racing gamely in the late stages. MUGGINS could not keep pace. HARPEN BELLE failed to better her position. PRINCESS BULL was never a threat. HOSE did not show ability in the footing. COLOR SALUTE broke tardily. ESCOHIGH forced a steady pace and held on willingly while finishing between the leaders. NOTICE ME, outrun for the first five eighths moved up fast on the stretch turn and closed fastest on the outside. VOLO SNOW was ridden harcf from the start and had no excuses. FIRE FINCH could not get through when kept on the inside of the leaders and tired in the last eighth. MAEBEAU and ASKARIS failed to threaten. BILLABONG bettered his position on the outside and closed gamely. HAZEL F. raced PIT TERRIER into submission and saved ground, but could not stay when the real test came. PIT TERRIER showed a good effort and should benefit much by the race. COL. SCOTT was never a threat. RIB ROAST was away tardily and was outrun. GOOD STAR saved ground and was held safe. GENERAL HOWES, a keen factor from the start, responded to a vigorous drive when reaching the stretch, then wore down HANDIBOY and outfinished CITY JUDGE when the real test came. CITY JUDGE raced stoutly to go along with the leaders, swung to the outside entering the stretch and gained a short lead, but could not cope with the winner. CHANCE WATCH luckily secured racing room on the inside from the beginning and gained steadily. HANDIBOY could not get into a clear lead and tired in the last eighth. MACIE MARGARET finished full of run while lacking racing room through the closing eighth. MAJOR B. raced strongly until nearing the stretch before tiring. HOLIDAY TEA tired in the last three-sixteenths. SHOOTING SCOUT met with repeated interference in the opening eighth. BUTTERMAN broke swiftly, but lack speed. WISE HILDRED and ISTANBUL were outrun. MINTSON forced a steady pace and disposed of CHANCER, but tired suddenly in the last sixteenth. DARK BEAU was a strong contender all during the running and had no excuses.
