| I I ! Galactic Topweighted For Rehoboth Purse Returns to Flat Racing Today After Winning Steeplechase Test STANTON, Del.. May 31.— Middle distance runners of the class D variety will hold the center of the stage at Delaware Park tomorrow in the mile and a sixteenth Rehoboth Purse, sixth and feature race of the usual eight-race card. Mrs. E. duPont Weirs Galactic, winner last season of the Survivor Stakes at Pirn- lico, will essay something unique on the turf in this Rehoboth field, in which he is top weight, under 118 pounds. Galactic was transformed early this year into a steeplechase performer and in his lone effort through the field at Pimlico was returned a winner. He fenced well and showed good speed throughout, closing with a rush to score. Now he is back to flat racing and judging from his 1944 performances, he is fully as classy as any of his rivals tomorrow. He is likely to be favorite since he belongs to a home state stable and trainer J. E. Ryan baa his charges in fine fettle at the meeting. Opposing this versatile performer will be Hornblende, Phantom Player and Val-divia. all with 115 pounds: Milcave under 112 and Viva Teddy at 107. Viva Teddy looms as the strongest of the contenders with Milcave, Phantom Player and Hornblende, all benefited by Pimlico races, likely to provide an interesting con- test all the way. Arrival of Charles Turners Bon Jour, top weight in Saturday s Brandywlne Handicap, sparked interest in that ,500 mile and a sixteenth event and indications were that he would go. Bon Jour had a race in Canada before reporting to this point.
